ABOUT THE TUTOR

Sue Dilley has a Higher Diploma in teaching Secondary,Home Economics and Textiles.  She is a member of the Basketmakers of Victoria, the Western Fibre Artists, The Embroiderers Guild of Victoria, Castlemaine Branch, the Phoenix Macedon Rangers Art and Craft Group and the Macedon Ranges Art Trail.

Sue has won prizes in both textile and basketry at the Royal Melbourne Show, Red Earth Gallery, Stringy Bark Festival, the Marion Therese Gebbie Memorial Award, Trentham Easter Art and Craft Show.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

In this workshop, you will create a woven landscape using natural plant fibres.  You will learn how to gather, prepare and store the plant fibres, how to set up the base on which to weave your landscape and learn the techniques of twining, reverse twining and weaving.

CATERING

Coffee/tea on arrival and morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Bring your lunch or food can be purchased at several eateries open on the day including O’Hara’s Bakery, Quigley and Clarke Cafe or Widow Twankey’s  on Fraser Street

REQUIREMENTS

Please bring an large old towel, secateurs, old scissors, drill and 5mm or 6mm bit (if you have them), water spray bottle, note book and pen, apron. Enthusiasm and the desire to learn something new!
